Brooks Enterprises will be launching a brand new publication which will be hitting the market soon called…Brooks Barbers & Beauty Weekly!

Created by Brooks Enterprises, the publisher of Gospel Pages Weekly with sales throughout North Carolina, Brooks Barbers & Beauty Weekly will be joining the same newsstands. “I grew up in the hair business watch my mom,” said Curtis Brooks on his reason and inspiration of starting UP the upcoming publication. “My mom was a hairdresser so I understand the business.”

The upcoming magazine will be about everything and anything pertaining to African-American hair; it will be catered to them and only them.

It has already secured more than a hundred advertisers from barber shops and beauty salons all across Jacksonville and Raleigh, NC. “When we went out to sell advertisements to the barber shops and beauty salons the businesses were very excited to know that we have a magazine coming out that’s catered to them and only them,” said Brooks. “The only business that can buy advertising for the magazine are barber shops and beauty salons. No other business can qualify for that.”

“The only obstacle we faced was dealing the Koreans,” said Brooks, speaking on the struggle of gaining their support and buying advertisements. “They own the supply stores that the barbers and hairdressers buy their supplies from. But the most alarming thing about that is that they do not support POC businesses.” Brooks Enterprises did came across one shop that was willing to support the publication because they were convinced by a black employee that it would be good for their business.

“I expect Brooks Barbers & Beauty Weekly to make a huge impact.”
